Cat vs. Printer

Watch this

Atheists

I completely agree with Bob Ray Sanders on this bus ad issue. Its just a little rediculous to even have to read about this sort of stuff. I personally am not religious but if i were a bus ad about being non religious would not offend me. Theres no reason for people to get up in arms about freedom of speech and just stating what they believe. I hate it when people make a big fuss about something being published that is against what they believe but they can make posters and state their opinion as much as they want. Ive seen posters and ads hundreds of times about how "god is great" and to "come see the light." But GOD forbid there be something on the opposite end of the spectrum for the believers or all HELL brakes loose. I really cant stand people like that! People that preach their beliefs over someone elses and cant respect that different people have different thoughts and beliefs REALLY aggrevates me. I dont understand how they can care soooooo much about people that have different views to just shut them out completely. I may not be religious but i respect those who are, just like if i were id respect those who werent.

The Common App.

The Common App is widiely used, and hear about my friends using it all the time. Personally i didn't use it and found no need to because my first choice school i applied to didn't take it. But after seeing my friends go through it I think its a pretty good innovation. Its easy to keep track of your application and all the steps youre missing so that you can better see exactly what you need to do to be done with all the applications. Its also easier when you think about it. Lets say a prospective student wants to apply to six schools. Thats six different websites to log in to to check application status and just fill it out in general. It seems like such a hassel now-a-days. And now since there are more than 400 schools taking the Common Application its just easier to do it that way.
Theres no reason to stress over some many applications when the Common App pretty much organizes everything for you. I saw the lay out for the Common App website and its pretty simple. It has the list for all the colleges you are applying to and next to the name of the university are symbols to tell you whether or not your application is completed adn ready to be sent and if you are missing something. To me it seems so much nore organized. Im not organized at all and either are a lot of high school students i know, so tagging along a ton of paper applications is a burden. Im pretty sure eventually way more schools with be taking the Common Application.

My Thanksgiving

For my thanksgiving went to a family friends house and spent the night there. We got there at like 2 and started eating right away. I stuffed like four of my moms deviled eggs down my throat and had some cheese and crackers to start off my thanksgiving feast. Im really not into thanksgiving food that much so i stocked up on the cheese and crackers for a while just to use the excuse at the dinner table later that i wasnt hungry. For the next couple of hours while turkey was finishing up and the stuffing was crisping in the oven i sat on the computer checking my facebook. I was the only teenager there and didnt feel like being a babysitter!!!! so when dinner was finally ready i filled my plate with biscuits and mashpotatoes. Yeap thats it! and i barely ate that. So as everyone else was eating and talking i was sitting there staring at my plate for about a half an hour until i was excused. After dinner was done i entertained the children for a little while, while the dinner was getting cleaned up. THEN I ATE PUMPKIN PIE. MY FAVORITE! after i had a couple pieces we all hung out for hours! We had a jumprope contest and played games.

Beauty Bias

While I was the article of Beauty Bias i continuously gained more support toward the criminalization of discrimination on the basis of looks. There is no way someone should be fired because they gained weight, like what was said in the article. And no woman she feel shes not beautiful because she doesnt measure up to the celebrities who can afford plastic surgery. i honestly believe every woman is beautiful in her own way and no one should have the right to tear her down and make he feel less than that.
When the article stated that 11 percent of surveyed couples would rather abort their own child than know that it might be obese i cringed. Why would anyone want to get rid of their own chile because of the chance it might be obese. That really angers me. Its called feed your child nutrious food.

Then the realistic part of me set in. Theres really no way America can just put a law out there to change everyones ways it just wont happen.

Great/Horrible Weekend

Okay, so my Creamy Acres trip went from great and horrifying to dull and dreary. It all started when i wrongfully decided to bring my phone out of Joey's car. I thought it'd be safe in my sweatshirt pocket. CLEARLY I WAS WRONG! Up first on our grand haunted adventure was the Ride of Horror (haunted hayride). That was probably the scariest hayride ive ever been on. I even got touched by a chainsaw! At the end of our ride we were dropped off at a maze. It was pitch black the the only thing i remember was holding onto joey for dear life while walking through the very dark confined space. Upon exiting the dark hole was the dreaded corn field maze. Thats what i dread every single year adn i usually back out. I was so close to not going through with it but Joey and Emily made me! Getting chased throughout thr maze by so creepy chainsaw handling freak was definitely not the highlight of my night! And to top it all off Joey told him my name so he was screaming my name and telling me he was going to get me. After finally getting out of there i was literally about to pee myself! But of course that wasnt the end of our trip; the Frozen Tundra was up next and i was already expecting the worst of the worse! WE get in there and i could barely see a foot in front of my face because of the smoke! all i remember seeing were beaty red eyes glaring at me through a cage. (SCARY!) At the end of that we were free to do whatever we wanted so my friends and i chose the 3D haunted house. I automatically knew that i wasnt going to be wearing the 3D glasses that were handed out. Again i was holding on to my friends, prepared for the worst to come. The one specific room i remember had hanging people EVERYWHERE and in the midst of the hanging dummies were real people getting closer and closer to you without actually touching you. It was then that i realized i didnt have my phone. I went straight into panic mode! i went to the nearest security guy adn told him about my phone. He searched for it but couldnt find it. I gave my information to the front desk. Im still waiting for that call! :(

Tyler Clementi

Before reading this article and talking about it in class I only thought that Clementi killed himself just for having his sexual encounters put on the internet. At first I though, okay well this kid needs to grow up its just sex and there would be no reason to kill yourself over it. But then I was informed that he was gay. The homosexual community already has enough hardships with the courage to come out and being accepted for being themselves. In the real world I know many families have become accepting of their childrens sexual orientation but on the flip side their peers can be very mean and even cruel to them everyday. This can put an unimaginable amount of guilt of teens just for being themselves. Thats obviously what happened to the teenagers in the article. Tyler Clementi was bullied to such an extent to take his own life adn unfortunately that is happening to many gay teenagers out there.

A Week in My Life

A typical week in my life doesnt consist of much except school, homework and work. Monday through Friday I attend school. After school i come home as usual and EAT (having to eat at ten thirty isnt exactly what i had in mind for lunch.) After I start making my food i log onto the computer and just goof off, listening to music, looking up stuff. I cant go on Facebook anymore because my Step-father blocked it for the school year (i hate him.) So then I start doing most of my homework. I usually dont have much because of the way my schedule's layed out with my study hall. Sometimes, IF IM LUCKY, i hang out with people or go out with my friends after school. Once again i say, IF IM LUCKY.
At around 6 my mom shows up along with the rest of my family and starts dinner or calls in take out. I eat some more then go up stairs to shower and just be away from my family some more. I come down at like about 9 and watch my shows, depending on what day of the week it is. I enter my bedroom for the last time to get in bed at around eleven. This cycle happens for FIVE DAYS. I have such an exciting life.
Once friday rolls around I sometimes have plans, sometimes i dont. What usually ends up happening is not note worthy so i shall end on that note. BYE.

In the article, Golfs marketing sizzle turns to fizzle by karen heller, Heller points out the golf industrys desire for hype around its players. With the entire Tiger Woods scandal adn the spilling of his past, Golf got what it wanted, sizzle. Now that theres so much drama sorrounding Tiger and his mistakes, golf has taken a back seat to his private life.

sex offender laws for youth

in the article i read in the nytimes i found out that if a minor around the age of 16 was to send an explicit picture to another minor that child would be punished legally. The child would be labelled as a sex offender. I think thats completely wrong. Its only something that happened due to pressure from an outside source. We need laws that deal with the issue based on facts and the particular situation rather than a blunt outcome.

haddonfield sued for off-campus policy

The article i just read was about the Haddonfield school board getting involved in students outside lives. The board says that any student arrested for alcohol of drug related issues will be suspended from sports or extracurriculars. I believe that students should be punished for what they do out of school. Theres no reason for the school to get involved with the students life, they have parents for that. Its personal and should not affect the students schoollife.
